Influenced by the beauty of Colorado, Jim was greatly influenced by his parents, whom were also artists. Beginning his career as a cartoonist, he later moved to California in 1990 and began painting with oils. The births of his children, Clint, Sophia and Gwen, provide great inspiration to Jim’s work a serious artist. Painting daily for the past 16 years, Jim feels this focus and commitment has contributed to his growth and success. As both a plein air and studio painter, he yearns to inspire others, while also being inspired by other art as well. Jim considers it a real blessing to create work that provides beauty into people’s homes and businesses.
Jim has won numerous awards at the local and national level. He is also a member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society.
